Victorian gold fossil studs

Being a silver wearer myself I've always hesitated in making things in gold, but with these gorgeous impressions they were just calling out to be gilded. I think gold together with silver looks fantastic together... don't you? My boyfriend reckons they look like fossils, so here's to some gorgeous little handmade Victorian fossil studs, you rock! I mean fossil.

Victorian impressions

One of my favourite past times is to squirrel around bric and brac, vintage and antique markets; and Paris is one of the best places to be when it comes to that. Though I have had these antique ornate silver Victorian cutleries (found in a Sydney market), hidden in my cupboards unseen and unused for quite some time. I've always known that I wanted them for making jewelry for it's carvings... without actually destroying them, it's just such a waste I thought to not share it's beauty. So! That's what I'm working on currently; some lovely earrings and pendants for my xmas collection based on the carvings, due out perhaps early or mid November.
Can't wait, hope they work out!

Where for art thou terrariums

A few months ago I was on a mission to search for better props for my jewelry photography when I came across what I thought was a live, but strange, yet cute little gorgeous moss sponge thing... say about 3.5inch wide and 1.5inches thick light as a feather. It turned out to be faux, like plastic, garnished with green sequins, faux dirt, real dirt? Anyway so I bought it regardless of my little fake/plastic phobia. It's one of those things where you just have to try it when it comes to photography.
Sadly it failed, it's my phobia thing I reckon...

So, my point to this Terrarium blog is that I have discovered the REAL THING. Tyrannosaurus? Teradactils? No I mean Terrarium... yes like the aquarium, vivarium... except it's for containing miniature plants. How cute and how lucky am I to be alive to enjoy these wonderful things.

I now present you Floresdelsol from Etsy, she grows and sells beautiful Terrariums beautifully presented in pretty pots and containers. I wish I can get my hands on some, she' based in the US. (All pictures credit to Floresdelsol, check it out: www.floresdelsol.etsy.com)

NEW member into the family!!

How lucky am I to have found this wonderful used jewelery workbench! The number of hours I have spent searching for a new or used under a reasonable budget was disheartening... why are they so expensive? But hey, this sexy little number came way below budget AND just in time for our new found apartment. Isn't she lovely Stevie? Isn't she loovvvveeeellyyyy
Thanks to Mikael Decor next to Selfor, we love you.
