Day 30: Oceanic ripples

Must admit I'm having a little difficulty in naming this ring and I think because it reminds me of so many other things other than the subject; flute, the Modernist era, M&Ms, nipples, ripples, aqua... But one has to decide so Oceanic it is!

This is a stack of three rings made to look like one when worn together in any order you like. The beads are of course by Studiorent one of my favorites to purchase handmade goody goody gumdrops lamp-work glass beads from from Etsy. Not sure if you notice but the dark brown/black feature bead has some tiny silver amongst the fine swirls, gosh not sure how that's done I'll leave it to the experts.

Ah.... the sun is indeed shining in Paris. Blisssss

So, come visit me and many others with their funky handmade designer wears, come and support small businesses and handmade from Paris as there will be for all shapes and sizes. Day 29 ring: Simple small dish

Ring 29 was made in conjunction with the previous 2 rings in mind, as I wanted to make a stack of 3 rings which will look like they belong together, and yet yummy stand alone rings. As you can see from the last picture I have stacked them together of a group photo... how cute and delicious do they look hey.

On to the next stack as I'm now addicted to riveting beads and stacking them!

Day 27 and Day 28 rings ensemble encore :)

Ok ok... I was out all day yesterday but I made the ring in the evening hence I decided to make a companion for it as well for today's ring. Turned out pretty alright I reckon, both lovely beads are handmade lamp work glass beads; brown from Pinocean the pale green is from Studiorent, 2 of my favorite people to purchase top quality handmade beads from from Etsy.

Enjoy!

Day 26 ring: Green baby nipples

I'm a little hooked on riveting lamp-work glass beads as they can look rather delicious and cute don't you think? This a clear aqua green bead riveted on matt sterling silver square wire ring.
May be making some more of these in loads of different colors!

Day 24 and 25 ensemble!

Ah the weekend ... bliss. No work Saturday as in no pics but I love making jewelry for fun so it's not counted as work work. Here they are in twos, one for Saturday and one for Sunday.

• Day 24 ring: Ring ring. Multiple sterling silver wire rings on top of other rings. It's a fairly dainty type ring with multiple size rings held together onto a jump ring.

• Day 25 ring: Green octo. A good size feature hand made lamp-work bead in lovely dotted green on white, set in a tube... no glue. Hence the bead is able to spin around the tube therefore it's a little addictive to wear and play with.

Day 23: Ladies and gentleman

I enjoyed making this ring so much! Hope you can see that there is a silhouette of a gentleman hidden behind the ring which I've cut out and made into a pendant. I just couldn't dispose of him as I feel he was very much part of this ring as her.

This a a BIG vintage German glass cameo in egg shell color. A much smaller but the same kind of cameo was used for Day 20 ring in a claw setting. Up for sale...

Hope you enjoy looking! x

Day 22 ring: Gothic candelabra

This is so kitsch I love it, it's hilarious. Though I'm not a big gothic fan nor am I into candelabras but this had to be made indeed. But I'm sure someone out there would have made one similar to this without a doubt. I wish I hadn't put chains on it ... perhaps I'll tweak a little after. And for the sake of effects I wish I had some little candles laying around when I needed them, that's the down side of not working in an office environment as if if you dig deep into a drawer you'd bound to find a red candied striped candle lurking in the corner gathering dusts somewhereeeeeee!

Day 21 ring: Victorian pinkie

This little pinkie ring could hardly fit onto my mandrel but thank goodness I managed to lightly hammered it to at least fit onto a size US 2.5 pinkie, thus my mine:)

Made from Art clay fine silver, I took the impressions off an antique Victorian knife I have; it's been used so many times for many other adornments for my little online shop... money well spent!

Feeling so mucho mucho better today after 2.5 days of sickness yuk. Braved the cold yesterday and ventured out to meet my buddy Papermode to collect some new laser cuttings which I've had done from ponoko US tweeheehee, little treat to come soon.

D'accord... back to work work:) A bientot tout le monde.

Day 20 ring: Vintage cameo

I have some German vintage cameos laying and have also wanted to get into claw setting again for practice. So as a result this is it!

Day 17, 18 and 19th ring!

Whoahh... finally I finished off today's ring and photograph the rest from the last 2 days. When the in-laws come to visit it's a full time job indeed 12 -12, nonetheless we got enjoy site seeing in the freezing cold and dined in yummy restaurants; and so alas I got to taste Sole Meuniere a simple french fish dish cooked in butter sauce with roasted almonds at the Le Cafe du Commerce, not to mention the free Champagne to boot!

Back to work, herewith below a little description of the rings!
• Day 17 ring: Cirque du Soleil – I've seen this design somewhere before but here is my version which I was dying to make so I get to wear it perhaps.

• Day 18 ring: The Oval – Oval version of the above for those designers out there who loves rounded corners on hard edges... like me!

• Day 19 ring: Beady bead bead – wanted to try putting in more bead chains from the similar Day 5 Beady ring, so here it is.

Happy Chinese New Year to you all :) May the year of the Tiger brings you strength and force... good force!

Day 16 ring: Water hole

Pod, water hole, billabong, empty eyeball, well; call it what you like it's organic! I love organic, rustic, de-stressed(Lunaticart calls it;) jewelery but I've been more inclined to make pure and clean looking jewelry for my shop thus far... though I may surprise myself sometime soon.

Yay! It's not snowing for a change in Paris. Weather's been looking pretty good considering the last few days ahmmm I may even venture out to the shops for some supplies. Tis my first winter in Paris and by the sounds of it it's the coldest winter in 15 years they've had, geee thanks.

Don't forget you romantic cheesy fools, it's Valentine's day this Sunday.

Let there be sun !!!!!!! Bring it on.

Day 15 ring: button up your finger

What a cutey! Buttons remind me of my many precious moments spent making things with my mum when I was a little girl. We would spend hours sewing, cutting things, making up my first cross stitch pencil case (which I still have), to handkerchiefs with intricate crochet ends and many many more things... from memory I think I was only 3! Now it's my niece's turn as I watch her go through my mum's boxes of bits and bobs:)

The ribbon part of the ring is extend-able, as the little silver loops that holds the ribbon together is made like the old fashion way of a belt – the inspiration comes from a piece of antique Victorian bracelet I own except the feature piece is a Gothic cut out of a letter 'M'. This fine silver button of this ring is made out of my favourite Art Clay silver and the impression is taken of an actual button.

I think I may make a bracelet version for this for me shop hehe.

Double the fun !Day13 and Day14 ensemble

Here are the 2 missing rings from previous days! to catch up on my make a ring a day project, thanks to the weather;)
Day 13 ring: Symbols collide
Day 14 ring: Stacks of Pluto – a design which I've made for my shop a while ago but these have thicker bands which I think not only looks better but feels nicer.

Day 12 ring: Galactical

Well well... finally a picture:). I'd managed to sneak some time in this afternoon to take some pics of the ring I made yesterday, blame it on the ekky weather not to say that it's any different today except there was some cute fluffy snow – but thank goodness for Photoshop.

I've always wanted to try making round head pins between a sheet. I must say it's a little tricky due to my hobby-ish torch I own. Hopefully I'd be able to score myself some supreme jeweller's top notch torch head soon so look out!

I owe myself another ring... for today so come back, I may surprise myself with 2 for the next upload.

Day 11 ring: Caged

What a cold, cloudy weekend after such a unexpected sunny week we've had. Same old story for every country I've lived in, why is that?!

I wanted to make a ring from my left over soft silver wires which I have no use for any longer, and the results are a little different from how I've envisaged. Nonetheless, pretty happy with it; it's organic nature is not what I'm accustom to creating, it's retired state(collapsed flat), the little brass beads for contrast, the feel for multiple wires together... all happy accident!

The time I've spent making this was ridiculous as several foundation pieces were placed in their incorrect position, thus undoing several rolls of wires to reposition AND so fiddly! Oh what an experience and never again even if you pay me a thousand... well maybe.

Thanks to Simon my other half for putting in time to model, what pale but lovely man fingers he has don't you think? :)

Day 10 ring: Chasing tails

Since I've been making open (un-soldered) rings of late I thought why not make a feature of the open feature at the front?! Even though the little dog/cat may not have turned out the way I wanted it to – to look more animated... it still worked out ok. At least it looks like a beast and not some unrecognizable silhouette.

My family have had dogs since as far as I can remember and our last little four legged friend pass away at a ripe old age of 15/16yrs 2 years ago, not bad for a fluffy chihuahua huh? I know they can be irritating and not the least likable dogs of all, but rest assured he was a real character and the most lovable dog out of the 5 we have had.

Ode to Handsome(yes that's his name!) chasing his own little fluffy tail 'round and 'round.
Peace my little buddy, I miss you xx

Day 9 ring: Silver shelled clams

Is that the Sydney Opera house!? Well, I couldn't decide whether they're more like clams or the latter but anyway I love clams, so clams it is.

Again like most if the rings I've made so far the features on top are held individually on jump rings which means they shimmy when you move sounding very much like the music of Day 6 ring.

These sterling silver discs are rather thin but hard, strong enough to bend without distorting the flat surface which I love. If there was work bending silver discs all day I'd be there!! boahhh I think the disgusting smelling chemical silver black (to darken silver) is working it's way into my cerebral cortex vortex moretext text text... No mum I'm not eating it just inhaling coincidentally.

bye bye, see you tomorrow lovelies:)

Day 8 ring: Traces of love

Opps I'm a little early for Valentines! What the heck but life is too short to wait for some commercial calling to make a 14th Feb The Valentine's day. I've always been a little stubborn when it came to following popular trend(except for the make a ring a day trend;). Remember when stone wash jeans were in in the 80's ? Well, I wore them in the 90's. Actually on a good day like today I wear it to show off too too bad you can't see me now.

Anyway, I'll stop joshing around and head back to bench monkey de mode.
Tschüssss

Day 7 ring: iRing

Pod... is what this little seed is like hence the iRing? no? ok let's move on

Well, this was one of the many little charms I made when I first got my hands on some magic art clay silver. Put your hands up if you think the are just godsend?! me me me. Yes, I still think they're magical I mean they're like what our dreams would make up; you play with clay, you make shape and puffs! it turns into PURE silver.

Ahhh, my day has been filled with joy and disappointment. How can anyone anyone have such bad luck in owning a functional tumbler, oui c'est moi. The first brand new tumbler blew up in my kitchen and left me with jelly knees for the rest of the week... the second arrived today with the correct European voltage alas alas; checked the volt. 3 times, read the instructions etc. Plugged it in and nada, nada, nothing happened? I guess I'm meant to polish every single silver pieces with my bare hands forever and everrrr.

Day 6 ring: Mollusc, Mulusc, Mollusco, Molluske...

... call it what you like but to me they look like Mussells garnished with a handful of chopped onions and capsicum yumm!

This ring composes of Sterling silver sequins which I've had laying around for 6 months now! Just in time to be made into a something, as I have had plans for it to go on a trip to the silver crematorium in exchange for some other more useful bits... ahhhhh no I'll be good I promise! Ok, so I'm glad I didn't as they're just the perfect thinness and thickness to flip and shimmy with neighboring sequins; thus creating a lovely shimmering sounds that would take you into the fantasy world of cabaret.

Off I go to monkey around the bench to work, travail, trabajo, Arbeit... call it what you like
Bye bye lovelies xx

Day 5 ring: Beady ring

Is it February already?! woahhh
The idea of this ring has been floating around my head for quite sometime now. I just hadn't made because of it's dainty nature, definitely not a statement piece!. It's beauty is so subtle, elegant and innocent... it can easily go unnoticed.

Needless to say, I love it for it's ease of wear as well. The larger silver tube which is slightly curled for ergonomic reasons, is threaded through the chain unsoldered so it can turn with the chain as one rolls it into one's finger. The other smaller tube is there to hide the solder between the 2 ends of the chain.

Voila! It's up for sale in my shop.
