The many sides to a droplet

My first droplet shaped jewelry was a ring, first made it's appearance years ago from my participation in the RAD(make a 'Ring and day' challenge on the web). I hadn't thought too much about it nor was I influenced by fashion, it manifested itself by sheer accident from bending the last bit of wire I had on my ring mandrel. It has since exhibited itself into numerous obvious wearable form; earrings, studs, bangles by sheer evolution. Now it's existence is omnipresent in Etsy calling itself from 'thorn', 'egg' etc you name it!

What a simple, universal and powerful shape or symbol recognized by anyone sans language barrier as a drop of water. I'd decided to play with the shape itself, fusing it together turn it around upside down....resulting in an infinity symbol, peanut, zoro mask...what do you think?!

The last conclusion is a 3D "heart", available now in my Etsy shop!

And in 3D form!

What's new with Minicyn?

Lo and behold.... after searching high and low I'd managed to find myself some not only rose-cut diamonds but in brown and grey color too! Well, they're for the shop but if I'm good I may get to keep a pair for myself one day. They're about 2.2mm wide, set into a round chubby 4.4mm wide solid silver pebble-like form with some subtle speckly texture to give of dancing light. Lovely they are.

Come hither Miners Lettuce - June

I don't think it's all that unusual for a jeweler to not be donned in his or her own jewelry or any at all, as I am one of those kind. Though an avid collector indeed I am... Oh yes, if you're good perhaps one day I'll do a show and tell.

But here's an insight to one which I may be collecting from very soon by Johnny Nino – a teacher of metal sculpture by day and a jeweler by night. Everything is hand fabricated from scratch with attention to detail and care needless to say; from the jewelry down to the boxes in which they come in, individually hand crafted from reclaimed wood. Other found materials are sometimes used... from pebbles, Ostrich egg to walnut shells etc! All very sleek, sexy, yet organic and above all eco-friendly.
